Service Description

The Camp will focus on overspeed and power skating, skills work, and small area games situations. The overspeed and power skating portion will create a fun environment where the skaters will work on improving their speed, balance, endurance, acceleration and strength, through quality repetition. We will focus on knee bend, edge work, explosiveness, stick positioning and power. We will work on stride work, leg drive and recovery, technique, form and body positioning. Participants will be pushed and challenged to do drills and activities outside their comfort zone. We will work on both forward and backward skating. In the skill development and small area games part we will work on the necessary skills and habits that will make them improve as players. Players will be challenged to work on the necessary skills through instruction, skills stations and small area games. We will work on drills that force the kids to read time and space, evade pressure and non pressure situations and work with teammates on the ice. The small area games will allow players to mirror game situations in restricted space. The game will be the teacher of these skills. There will be a 6 to 1 player to coach ratio to provide high end quality instruction.
